What is a kava bar?Kava's popularity outside the South Pacific has grown in recent years, as people seek natural alternatives to unwind and relax. Florida is home to a whopping 200-plus kava bars! What's really cool is that kava enthusiasts often organize 'kava crawls' where they hop from one kava bar to another in a single night, usually with friends in tow. It's a fun tradition that lets you explore the unique vibes of each kava bar. Every place has its own distinct atmosphere, making every visit an adventure. And, we're so excited to bring that same sense of community and exploration right here to Nashville, Tennessee! Kava has a unique taste that can be an acquired delight for many. It's often described as earthy, woody, and slightly bitter. Some people compare it to the taste of peppery water or a mildly herbal tea. Multiple flavors can be added to change kava to meet your taste preferences.

What is kava, and where does it come from?Kava is a traditional nonalcoholic South Pacific beverage with a rich cultural history. It is made from the root of the kava plant (Piper Methysticum), which is native to the islands of the South Pacific, including Fiji, Vanuatu, Tonga, and Hawaii. Kava has been an integral part of South Pacific Island cultures for centuries, where it is consumed in social and ceremonial gatherings. While it's important to note that kava is not a medical treatment, some individuals who consume kava have reported experiencing a sense of relaxation and tranquility after drinking it. It's sometimes described as promoting a calm and clear state of mind, helping with inflammation, reducing stress and anxiety, and enhancing sociability without significant impairments associated with alcohol or stronger sedatives. These effects can vary from person to person and depend on factors like the kava strain, preparation method, and individual sensitivity.
-
How is kava made?Traditionally, kava preparation involves grinding the kava root into a fine powder, which is then mixed with water to create a cloudy, earthy-tasting brew. Kava ceremonies often play a significant role in community building and cultural rituals, fostering a sense of togetherness and relaxation.

What is Kratom?Kratom is a natural botanical beverage derived from the leaves of the Mitragyna Speciosa tree, primarily found in Southeast Asia. It has a long history of traditional use in the region. In some cultures, kratom is consumed as part of cultural and social practices. Kratom is not a medical treatment. Kratom leaves can have different vein colors, typically red, green, and white. The vein color is associated with varying alkaloid profiles and potential effects. For example, guests have indicated red vein kratom is associated with relaxation, while white vein kratom is more energizing and stimulating. It is important to note that everybody reacts differently to different products. This is what our guests tend to find they experience with kratom. Tennessee law requires the following disclosure for kratom: “Warning: Do not use if you are pregnant or nursing. It is illegal to possess Kratom if under 21 years of age. Consult your healthcare professional before using. Do not combine with alcohol or medication. Consult a doctor prior to usage if you have any heart disease, liver disorder, high blood pressure, or medical condition or take medication.” Multiple flavors can be added to change kratom to meet your taste preferences.

What is Kombucha?Kombucha is a fermented tea beverage that has gained popularity in recent years due to its potential health benefits and unique flavor profile. While not a medical treatment, kombucha has been associated with potential health benefits driven primarily by its probiotic content.
